Tip results in arrest of McArthur man

MCARTHUR – A tip received by the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a McArthur man on multiple felony charges.

Sheriff Shawn Justice said his office received information on Tuesday July 2 that Robert Wright, 19, had been spotted in Wellston. Wright had a warrant out for his arrest and is a suspect in several vehicle, residential and business break-ins.

According to Justice, the Wellston Police Department located Wright and took him into custody on an outstanding felony warrant. Wright was transported to the Vinton County Sheriff's Office for questioning. An investigation was being conducted the McArthur Police Department and the sheriff’s office.

Wright is facing charges of felony burglary, fleeing and eluding, multiple charges of felony breaking and entering and multiple charges of misdemeanor theft. He is being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville on a $2,000 cash or surety bond.
